Toon tune for Bobby

Geordie stars of Eighties TV hit Auf Wiedersehen Pet have recorded a tribute song to football legend Sir Bobby Robson to raise cash for his cancer foundation.

Jimmy Nail (who played Oz),  Tim Healy (Dennis), and Kevin Whatley (hen-pecked Neville) performed Tyneside anthem The Blaydon Races, with a special verse about the former Newcastle and England manager who died in July aged 76.

The new track features on a new DVD A Knight to Remember which is on sale in aid of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

Tim says: “We all loved Sir Bobby. We had a great time recording the song for a great man.”

The Sir Bobby Robson Foundation focuses on the early detection and treatment of cancer and the clinical trials of new drugs that will eventually beat it. Please do what you can to support the ongoing work of the Foundation by making a donation. All donors will receive a personalised certificate and letter of thanks.
